Founded in 1998 by Jay Steinmetz in his small Baltimore apartment, Barcoding, Inc. is a national leader in supply chain automation and innovation, enabling organizations to be more efficient, accurate, and connected.
Jay Steinmetz, founder and CEO of Barcoding, began his entrepreneurial journey in 1990 as a graduate of the Berger Entrepreneurship Program at the University of Arizona. In 1997, Steinmetz founded what would become Barcoding, Inc.
In 2004, Barcoding became an Inc. 500 company and was recognized by Forbes magazine as one of 10 Privately Held Technology Companies to Watch. Under his leadership, Barcoding, Inc. currently employs over 90 people in 16 states and generates revenue well more than $60 million. Steinmetz is known for his entrepreneurial skills and has been honored locally and nationally.
