TU Education, Ethics, and Change: Ireland and the U.S.

Study abroad in Ireland with Towson University in Minimester 2023! Participants will examine the nature of ethics, social justice, and related critical social issues in both the U.S. and Ireland as well as experience various cultural activities related to music and art.

The program is based in Dublin – the country’s capital and home to many famous attractions such as Trinity College and the Guiness Storehouse. Students will also spend time in Galway and Belfast. The program features guest lectures, academic visits to the Disability Federation of Ireland and Kilmainham Gaol, and a presentation by the NUIG Irish Center for Human Rights. Additional highlights include visits to the Book of Kells, a tour of Dublin Castle, and a Black Taxi tour of the Peace Walls in Belfast.

Participants will choose among SCED 304 Education, Ethics, and Change (3 credits, Core 14), SCED 494 Travel and Study in Secondary Education (3 credits), and SCED 594 Travel and Study in Secondary Education (3 credits) with Professor Heather Haverback.
