Parking Changes for Fall

Regular parking enforcement resumes and 2022-2023 annual parking permits are active as of August 15. Here are updates, changes and important reminders for parking on campus this fall, including news on permits, electronic citations and electric charging on campus.

Permits

  • Sales for 2022-2023 parking permits began July 25. Use the eParking Portal Affiliated Login to purchase permits.
  • Permit rates have changed based on a campuswide parking study. Additional faculty and staff rate tiers have been added and tier transitions are more equitable. Student commuter parking rates are now based on proximity and student resident rates are based on duration.
  • If you purchased a parking permit through the eParking Portal, monitor your TU email for permit information. Info on permit types is also available at towson.edu/parking.

Enforcement Changes

  • As of July 2022, citations that are not resolved and/or paid within the allotted timeframe are assessed a $25 late fee. This includes citations transferred to the Student and University Billing Office.
  • Carefully read all parking signs to ensure you’re parking in a valid location for your permit type. A valid TU permit is required year-round to park on campus from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday.

New ZipCar location

  • A ZipCar parking space is being added to Lot 11 located near the Glen Towers residence halls.

Parking Assignment Reminders

  • With the exception of 10 West residents, all residents will be assigned parking in the West Village Garage or overflow areas at the stadium lots. Freshmen residents approved for a parking permit will be assigned to overflow parking near the stadium. Resident overflow permit holders will not be eligible to park in the West Village or 10 West Garages. Residents are encouraged to use the shuttles or SafeRide for traveling around campus.
  • The ground level of the West Village Garage will be dedicated to supporting our Tigers Care health initiative. Visitor parking will continue to be available on the third level of the Garage.

Pick Up/Drop Off

  • Bus slip access is strictly enforced for the safety of the campus community. Any vehicle parked or stopped in a bus slip, including a TU vehicle, is subject to a citation and/or towing.
  • Convenient areas for passenger pick-up and drop-off are located next to the West Village Garage. Drivers must remain with the vehicle in these areas.  There are also free 5-minute and 20-minute parking spaces around campus.  Consult a campus map for more details.
