Environmental Studies and Conservation in the Tropics

Join TU Biology Professor Sarah Haines to learn about her summer study abroad program to Costa Rica in a virtual session on Monday, March 7 from 2 pm – 3 pm. Please register in advance for this meeting and then you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Professor Haines will explain how students will work side-by-side with local community members to complete environmental action projects. She’ll also give you an overview of the other program highlights including excursions to Arenal Volcano National Park, the Totuguero National Park, and the Monte Verde Cloud Forest.

Participants will earn BIOLĀ 382/582 orĀ ENVS 382/582. ELED and EESE majors can substitute for BIOL 303 Life Sciences. Students may fulfill units toward their Latin American Studies elective requirements in consultation with the Latin American Studies program director prior to departure.
