Environmental Studies, Conservation, and Pura Vida in Costa Rica

Environmental Studies and Conservation in the Tropics

Join TU Biology Professor Sarah Haines to learn about her summer study abroad program to Costa Rica on Wednesday, February 23 from 12 pm – 1 pm  in the Psychology Bldg, room 407.

Professor Haines will explain how students will work side-by-side with local community members to complete environmental action projects. She’ll also give you an overview of the other program highlights including excursions to Arenal Volcano National Park, the Totuguero National Park, and the Monte Verde Cloud Forest.

Participants will earn BIOL 382/582 or ENVS 382/582. ELED and EESE majors can substitute for BIOL 303 Life Sciences. Students may fulfill units toward their Latin American Studies elective requirements in consultation with the Latin American Studies program director prior to departure.
