Fair Chance CoP: Prison Education as Social Justice

Fair Chance CoP: Prison Education as Social Justice
Thursday, October 21, 2021,  12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

CK 404B and virtually via Zoom

This Community of Practice (CoP) session will focus on prison education as social justice and the themes of this session will come from several readings available in advance of the conversation. We will discuss Fair Chance’s core values (honoring the humanity of all those impacted by the criminal justice system, as evidenced by our commitment to using humanistic language; removing barriers to, and creating supports for, incarcerated and justice-impacted students to access higher education; engaging, elevating, and employing directly impacted people; promoting higher education as a social good that promotes positive cascading effects for individuals, for our university, for the region, for the state, and for the nation; and advocating for and advancing equity in all of our endeavors).   Lunch will be provided to in-person attendees.

Register to attend in person or online via Zoom.
