Mail & Package Delivery: What you need to know

In response to COVID-19, Towson University is open with limited services. The following postal and package delivery services remain available:

Post Office

Postal services follow a modified schedule. Individuals can drop off and/or pick up small packages and mail by appointment only from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. To coordinate a pick-up or drop-off time, call the Post Office at 410-704-2260 or email postoffice@towson.edu. Post Office staff will direct you to a pick-up or drop-off location and observe social distancing directives. Please bring identification in case it is needed.

For departments that remain open for delivery, the Post Office can continue delivering and picking up mail and small packages by request. To request or modify service, contact the Post Office at 410-704-2260 or postoffice@towson.edu. Departments currently receiving mail include the Bursar’s Office, Financial Services, WTMD, the Office of Public Safety, the Office of Development, the College of Liberal Arts, Facilities Management/Central Receiving, Athletics and TUNE.

Central Receiving & Package Delivery

Larger packages delivered to faculty, staff and campus departments can be picked up at the Central Receiving loading dock in the General Services Building. Central Receiving is open for package pick up Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-ins are accepted, and packages will be transferred while adhering to social distancing directives. Faculty and staff may call Work Control at 410-704-2481 to check on a package or confirm a package is available for pick up. Please note that packages are not being delivered on campus during this time. Packages that are not picked up will be held at Central Receiving and distributed when normal operations resume.

Per state guidelines, all items purchased with a pro-card must be delivered to Towson University’s address: 8000 York Road, Towson, MD 21252.  Packages shipped directly to on-campus office addresses will not be delivered since many buildings are locked. Off-campus deliveries require prior approval from the procurement card program administrator.  To ensure your package gets to you as soon as possible, please include your department name on your order.

Locating A Package

If you are looking for a package and are unsure whether it arrived at the Post Office or Central Receiving, we recommend you check the tracking information to see who signed for it. If it was signed for by L. Frantz, R. Clark, T. Kotschenreuther, D. Hahn, V. Brown, L. Lewis, or D. Crosby, it is with the Post Office. Otherwise, it is likely with Central Receiving. If you need assistance locating your package, contact the Post Office at 410-704-2260 or postoffice@towson.edu.
