Parking Changes and Reminders for the 2019/2020 Academic Year

TU is growing, and that’s great news! Growthmeans change, and we want you to be prepared for parking changes going into effect for the 2019/2020 academic term. Those changes include:

  • The Lot 7 Resident area in the Towsontown garage will be expanded to accommodate the increased number of residents at 10 West.
  • A free 20-minute parking option has been added to the paystation at Glen Drive to allow quick access to the area for loading & unloading.  These permits are valid in non-reserved spaces in the area.
  • The new ParkMobile Reservations system has replaced the use of parking codes for Department Guests, Alternative Transportation participants, TURFA, Smartway Elite© ‘Green’ visitor parking and overnight parking. General visitors will continue to have the option of using a pay station or the ParkMobile app to purchase a visitor permit.  For more details visit the Parking & Transportation Services website.
  • Please remember department visitor codes are not to be used for activities where 10 or more guest vehicles will be parking on campus.  If a department is hosting 10 or more guests, they must submit an event parking form to arrange for guest parking.

As a reminder, for the safety of the campus community and shuttle passengers, there will continue to be strict enforcement of bus slips. Only buses are permitted in slips. All other vehicles parked or stopped in bus slips, including TU vehicles, will be subject to citations and towing. Convenient areas for immediate pick-up and drop-off of passengers (Pick-Up/Drop-Off Zones) are located next to the West Village Garage and on the access road across from the Health Center (next to the CLA field).  Drivers must remain with the vehicle in these areas.  There are also free 5-minute and 20-minute parking spaces around campus.  Please consult a campus map for more details.

As always, please carefully read all parking signs to ensure that you are parking in a valid location for your permit type. A valid TU permit is required year-round to park on campus from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday.

For additional information, please visit the Parking & Transportation Services’ website at www.towson.edu/parking or call the office at 410-704-PARK.
