Support Transfer Students! Be a mentor in the Transfer Mentor Program

The Transfer Mentor Program pairs faculty and staff mentors to incoming transfer students; it is designed to provide those students with support in their career and academic development. The Transfer Mentor Program (TMP) was recognized by the Association for Orientation, Transition, and Retention (NODA) as the national innovative program of the year in 2018.

This program is entirely run by faculty and staff volunteers-the student capacity of the program is only limited by the number of mentors who offer their time to support an incoming transfer student. Please note that all professional staff and faculty are welcome to serve as mentors, however, students should not apply to be mentors for this program.

To volunteer, please fill out this short form by January 25th, 2021. Expectations and important dates for mentors to know are listed at the top of the form to volunteer Although the deadline is not until January, I encourage you to apply sooner! It should take no longer than 5 minutes to complete: https://forms.gle/LHjWSREUUF9AJCAU7

*Because of COVID-19 changes, the Transfer Mentor Program will be virtual this semester. If this is your first time participating in the program as a mentor, we ask that you attend an information session.

Please feel free to e-mail jvcummings@towson.edu with any questions.
