Interested in more accurately assessing students? The grading system almost universally adopted by educators is not a system of measurement. Yet, this system is used to make high-stakes decisions about students that have long-lasting impacts. In this session, we will explore typical grading systems, why they are not a valid measurement system, and how Standards-Based Grading can be used to assess students.
