ICYMI: TU Global Lecture Exchange to Launch this Fall

The TU Study Abroad Office creates high impact educational experiences for all Towson University students to gain global perspectives through experiential learning. The impact of COVID-19 has created space to explore new and creative ways to expand institutional partnerships in support of internationalizing the TU curriculum. As a means of offering additional opportunities for intercultural learning at TU, the Study Abroad Office and the Faculty Academic Center of Excellence at Towson (FACET) are pleased to launch the TU Global Lecture Exchange.
The goal of the program is to enhance existing TU courses by connecting Towson University faculty members interested in virtual collaboration with professors from one of our international partner institutions. The project directly supports the University’s commitment to academic excellence and student success by helping to prepare globally conscious students through academic transformation and course redesign. The Study Abroad Office staff will match TU professors with an academic colleague from the same or similar discipline at one of our existing exchange partner schools abroad so they can “swap” one or more lectures in a virtual format. TU currently has 21 active international exchange partner universities in 9 countries. Faculty interested in participating in the program should complete the online interest form to be matched with an appropriate international partner for collaboration. The Study Abroad office will facilitate an introductory video call and provide guidelines for facilitating the lecture via Blackboard Collaborate Ultra. Requests are now being accepted for fall 2020 courses and beyond.
Visit the GLE webpage or contact the TU Study Abroad Office at studyabroad@towson.edu for more information and to get started.
